According to the instruction sheet, this device can be placed over the key hole side of a doorknob, to prevent a person with a key from entering the door. Great for stopping access by management, maintenance personnel, or a previous occupant who has kept a key to a hotel room or an apartment. The device can also be used in a home on doors that do not have a locking knob, such a a closet, storeroom, or a bedroom.
The instruction sheet states that although this device cannot, in every case, prevent a determined individual from breaking in or through a door, it will prevent most most undesired entries.
