Carrier PCB for holding Parallax OEM BS2p40 Stamp Interpreter chip
This is a new carrier PCB for holding Parallax OEM BS2p40 Stamp Interpreter chip. Only the blank PCB and documentation are provided. At the very least you'll need to purchase the OEM Interpreter chip from Parallax and some additional components like a resonator, EEPROM chip. Once built the finished module is pin compatible with the BS2p40 Stamp. The main differences are that the EEPROM is a standard DIP and can be placed in a socket. It also has a surface mount MAX232 for more of a true serial port. Components can be mounted to both sides of the board so the voltage regulator and resonator are tucked up neatly underneath the module.
If you are thinking about trying one of the Parallax OEM Stamp chips as a proof of concept then this board can get you started quickly. At the moment it is the only available board I know of for the Stamps based on the SX48 processor. Some of the other OEM Stamp chips could be used (like the BS2pe) but those have less I/O that the BS2p40 so the extra connections can just be ignored. Assembly instructions and schematics are included. Below is a picture of what a finished module would look like (for reference only) to give you an idea how it turns out once completed.
