The pictures are of the actual unit for sale. In my estimation, the meter is the most important feature. There are other Staco's with the dial control - I truly believe this model is more accurate. Here is some information I copied from another site, "STACO 3PN1010V VARIAC - 0-140VAC AT 10 AMPS - TOTAL 1400 WATTS - METERED, SWITCHED AND FUSED WITH GROUNDED OUTLET. Has 6' power cord". This unit has been thoroughly tested and is working as it should. The rust spots in the pictures appear worse than in reality.
