We received this superb HP 5315A benchtop portable universal counter
and is option expandable to 1 GHz. This versatile unit gives up to 7 digit accuracy
both at low and high frequenies with its dual mode operation. Below 10 MHz,
the time period is calculated and its inverse displayed. Above 10 MHz, the unit
serves as a conventional counter.
There are many different, time, frequency, and totalizing options.
Included is a high stability option 001 VCXO for improved accuracy. Also included
is the option 002 battery pack for fully portable operation. The battery is not required
for normal use. At present, the older battery is barely functional. A replacement Hawker
Cyclon Monobloc 6 volt 5 AH is readily available from several other web sources at a

copies as well. The manual cover has moderate to severe scuffing. The rest of the
manual is complete and in quite good condition.

battery and charger. Display brightness reduces automatically on battery operation.
