One of the biggest problems facing breeders of Quail, Pheasant and Bantam Chicks is their propensity to want to get into the Water Founts. This is a natural instinct in newborn chicks, as they have just popped out of the security of the egg where they were suspended in fluid and their instinct drives them to want to go back into the fluid.
Thankfully, this instinct starts to diminish after the first 48 to 72 hours of life, but until then it is the responsibility of the breeder or hobbyists to protect the little ones while still providing a supply of fresh and clean water in a fountain specifically designed to keep the tiny quail, pheasant and bantam chicks out of the water and safe from drowning.
What you will receive is one Drown-proof Base, a One Quart Plastic Jug and we will include a Free package of our Shiney Attraction Stones, to insure the tiniest of chicks, like the Button Quails will be unable to get into the water, Plus the Shiney Stones attract the chicks which gets them started drinking quicker. Just place the stones into the rim of the fountain, we include enough to go all around the base. You can generally safely remove them after the first 5 days.
