Blue Andalusian's are one of the oldest Mediterrean Class of Breeds and are considered Globally Endangered. This fowl originated in Andalusia Spain and are known for their graceful, stately carriage and delicately blue laced plumage. The ideal feather color is Slate Blue with a narrow lacing of Dark Blue. The males have a cape of Blue-Black feathers with shading of Dove Gray. Both the male and female have Leaden Blue legs and toes, long deep bodies with an Upright, Alert Stance.
The standard weight for a male is 7 pounds and the standard weight of a female is 5 pounds. The hens are efficient layers of large white eggs, but are seldom broody. They have laid well for us year round.
All of these chicks will be blue.
