Tektronix 7904A 500MHZ frame plus 14 plug-ins & manuals

Also included are about a dozen assorted user/service manuals for the scope and modules. No cables or probes of any kind are included, (The little jumpers in the main picture are just to display a test signal.)
The 7904A was a good old war-horse of a scope. Perhaps not the sleekest or sexiest machine by 2010 standards, but it is quite fast, and might be just the ticket for the right user, someone that has the occasional need to look at a fast signal, but can't justify the cost of a new scope for that limited need. (We got it in a batch with some other equipment, and kept it around for exactly that reason).
Also, some of the modules might be pretty useful for the right application. For example, the differential amplifier is pretty helpful for audio applications without tying up a second channel.
Condition is typical for a unit of this vintage that has lived a life on a lab bench, used but not abused.
In general, the equipment seems to have been maintained well, there are multiple calibration stickers of varying vintage and no buildup of dust in the power supply fan, indicating that the equipment got regular service.
The mainframe, to the extent that we can test it, seems to operate well. CRT is clean and the trace is well focused. There is no burn-in.
I don't know much about the modules, since I can't generate the plethora of signals that would be required to thoroughly test all of them.
Quickly popping them in, it seemed like some of them worked well, BUT, some of them ... not so much.
It is quite likely that some of the modules are out of calibration. It is quite likely that some of the modules do not work at all. Tektronix was inordinately fond of switches and relays, and these modules have hundreds. Pretty much all of them, even the ones that work, seem like they could really use some contact cleaner.
1ea. 7A13 Differential Comparator
1ea. 7A18 Dual Trace Amplifier
1ea. 7A22 Differential Amplifier
1ea. 7A26 Dual Trace Amplifier
1ea. 7D15 225MHz counter/timer
I can reasonably test the scope, so I am willing to guarantee that the mainframe is not DOA.
That being said, I cannot vouch for its calibration.
And, again, I OFFER NO GUARANTEE ON THE MODULES.
As I've said, I cannot generate the signals to test all the modules, and they are clearly a mixed bag. It is quite likely that some of the modules are DOA, all of them could probably use a shot of contact cleaner.
If you're in the Austin area, pickup is OK.
