NPT: Assembly of NPT threads requires the
use of a sealant such as teflon tape or joint
compound. NPTF: Assembly of NPTF threads
does not require sealant. Seal is attained by
metal to metal contact. Spiral Fluted Taper
Pipe Taps are designed to draw the chips
out of the hole which prevents clogging of
the flutes and recutting chips. These taps
are suitable for tapping a variety of materials,
especially those that produce a long
