Hydraulic vise tower for hmc
This is a 6 inch 8 position hydraulic vise tower for use in horizontal machining centers. Each moving jaw has a full 2.5 inches of bi-directional stroke. The hydraulic power source is internal to the tombstone itself, and is energized at the load/unload station of the machine tool with a 24 volt plug in power supply. The jaws are actuated by a valve at the upper right hand corner of the fixture. There is an additional valve on each face which locks out movement of the top jaw so that each station may be loaded independant of the other. This makes for easy operator erganomics as well as the fact that no wrench handle is required for clamping of the jaws on the workpiece. Top jaws shown are aluminum, but mild steel and step jaws with hardened steel inserts are available as well. The moving jaws clip on with the twist of a 3/16" tee handle allen wrench. The center dead jaws may be positioned at the extreme top or bottom position on the tower to enable holding a very large part, one per face instead of two. The tower is constructed of 1045 steel and the faces are flame hardened to 58 Rc. The unit pictured will fit a 500 MM machine envelope or larger. The towers are available in 4", 6", and 8" sizes. The same technology is available for VMC's as well.
