We plugged this unit in and it came on when we flipped the switch. The fan ran and everything seemed to be in good order. We didn't have any proper welding cables to fit it, but we did a little testing with our multimeter. It put out decent voltage on both DC and AC welding and the voltage increased on the DC mode when we increased the amperage setting. This welder should weld fine from what we have tested, but we cannot guarantee it beyond how we have tested it.
