We actually have 2 of these models. Identical except one says Chart C417 on the back (assuming chart paper) and one says Chart: C1601 (8" Variety Pack). Identical except for those variations.
Item is able to run on batteries.

Does not come with any charts except the one pictured inside. Has a lock and key for both units. All specs can be found HERE
Has red and blue color splotches on the chart inside. Ink worked at some point.
