Benchmade model 6 rescue hook, w/ kydex sheath

The Rescue Hook is a versatile and powerful cutting tool that can be deployed with maximum safety to yourself and others. It has a variety of uses:
An Emergency Responder has need of a tool to cut seat belts and similar webbing, and to clear away entangling lines wile wearing gloves while not exposing himself to the risk of a naked blade.
It is always a good idea to carry a knife when working with lines, particularly around water. A self rescue knife should be easy to access, resistant to loss, and safe. The Rescue Hook meets these requirements admirably. You can clear away lines with a minimal chance of cutting yourself.
As a fish release knife, it can be kept ready to hand and deployed with a minimal risk of feeding your bits to the fish.
The delrin snap in sheath is an extremely versatile method of carry. It can be hung around the neck on its lanyard, which includes a safety break-away feature that will part under heavy load, to avoid entraping or hanging the user. The sheath has strap slots that permit it to be attached to your web or MOLLE gear. The lanyard holes have hexagonal counterbores to secure a hex nut, making it easier to bolt the sheath securely to your webbing or PFD. (Bolts NOT included.)
The Model 6 was developed from the Model 5 (Ring Knife) after requests from Emergency Responders for a tool that can be used while wearing turnout gloves. The handle was extended and a high visibility yellow plastic insert was added. It makes as much sense while wearing kayaking or tactical gloves.
