The following description is straight from the manufactures website.
The Model 1015 is the one most universally accepted by the leading automation and batching system builders. Like the Model 1020A, this model includes moisture sensing electrode plates, and water manifold; except, the water manifold is two-stage, instead of one. This is our most flexible, interfaceable moisture control system. When circumstances demand, it can be used manually as a trim water unit only, similar to the Model 1020A, or both pre-wet and final-wet cycles may be selected manually. It may also be interfaced with an automation system in several ways. One way is when set in the Remote position on the operation selector switch, it is at the total command of the automation system, which will select the coarse pre-wet water cycle and, at the command of the automation system, start that cycle. Upon completion of the pre-wet water cycle, it will notify the automation that it has finished, so that it may be progressed to the final-wet cycle. Likewise, at the end of the final-wet cycle, there is a "complete" signal indicating that the material is ready to be discharged. Another feature of the Model 1015 is an automatic cycle that will select the pre-wet and final-wet cycles automatically without the incorporation of an automation system. In the Auto Cycle position, this model has the same output signals available for other uses.
