A single point air operated "safety latch" will be interlocked with the controls to prevent the clamp platen from lowering unless the operator's dual punch button controls are activated.
The platen and guides are of welded steel construction with full continuous welding. The column housings are inline precision bored for the press tie rods and designed with split bushings for ease of maintenance.
Bearing housings furnished with wiper rings held in place by retaining rings. This design maintains grease in the guides and prevents entry of foreign material which may cause unnecessary wear on the bushings and columns.
The bearing housings are of long design to insure accurate guiding through the press stroke. Guide housings to be drilled for grease fittings.
All weldments are stress relieved after welding and before machining.
For use with water Glycol fluid. Flash point of standard hydraulic fluid is 400 deg. F.
Punch - 80 & 21 GPM constant delivery double type at 1800 RPM

The top mounted reservoir is a welded tank with pump, motor and valve system conveniently located for ease of maintenance. The reservoir is sandblasted and cleaned to remove scale and dirt which may contaminate the hydraulic system. Approximately 500 gallon capacity.
The reservoir has large clean out covers for ease of maintenance.
Water cooled heat exchanger with temperature control, circulating water only on demand.
Three panel mounted tonnage gauges with pressure adjusting knobs for clamp platen, punch and cushion. Pressure adjustable 20% to 100% of maximum capacity.

Press dual push buttons simultaneously (no tie down), clamp platen and punch advance. Release dual buttons, clamp platen and punch return. Hold dual buttons, clamp platen and punch advance to a programmable position and shift from "advance" to "press" speed at the same time beginning a sequence of operation.
Return stroke is adjustable and electric "jogging" is included for set-up, with dual buttons to return the clamp platen and punch. All press and motor control buttons are at the operator's position. The "press" advance and motor start buttons have protective enclosures. The "emergency" stop button is an open, mushroom type.
Note: In the triple action mode the punch will not travel beyond the clamp platen during dwell.

When a programmable down stroke position is reached the clamp platen and punch combined reverses automatically (distance reverse) or on contacting the work, builds up to a pre-set pressure and reverses automatically (pressure reverse). Dual buttons must be released to start a new cycle (non-repeat).

Positional control of the clamp platen and punch will be selected through individual key pads on the operator's panel. Temposonic position transducers in the punch and clamp cylinders provide the appropriate communications through a Dyatronics Panel Meter (key pad) to achieve this control with accuracy of set points and repeatability.
All limit switches are eliminated in the press circuitry except for (2) on the cushion - down and up stroke limits.

Note: This press is currently equipped with a special mold set used in its last operation. This mold has features that are integrated into the press controls. The press can be used for other conventional applications but may require some changes to be capable of the user's process.
This press requires a pit for the cushion.
