Emtech zm-2 qrp z-match antenna tuner-80-10M- very nice
This item is from an estate sale.
It is for an Emtech ZM-2 QRP Z-Match antenna tuner that works like new. I now have 2 of these, so I am selling one. These used to sell for between $65.00 to $75.00 in kit form and fully built as high as $125.00.
I have tested this with my Yaesu FT-817, end fed long wire , and home made counterpoise, and made many, many European and stateside contacts running about 2-1/2 watts running on batteries on my picnic table.
The cosmetic condition of this is very nice, just a few minor blemishes from normal use), however the performance is just like as if it was new.
You can tune almost anything with this tuner. Long wires, bedsprings, balanced and unbalanced, wires and dipoles, coax fed antennas. etc;
Here are the simple tuning instructions:
* Select your desired operating frequency.
* First Switch the ZM2 to operate
* Then turn the 2 knobs for maximum received noise - one seems to be coarse and the other fine tunes so this is easy.
* Transmit a carrier - 5w or less seems ideal. I usually use 1 watt or 1/2 watt.
* Turn the 2 knobs again while observing the little LED - when it goes out or is least bright you are tuned.
* Switch the ZM2 to operate.
* If you want to put your own SWR meter in line to check the accuracy of the LED SWR indicator, you will find 1.5 to 1 or less. Works great
