DESCRIPTION: Hard -Top 1 is a water based coatings for interior or exterior concrete, stone and unglazed tile. It produces an extremely hard durable surface designed to withstand vehicle traffic on driveways and garage floors. Both products are hot-tire resistant with good chemical resistance. HT-1 is a single component acrylic. It produces a gloss sheen on coated surfaces. Meets VOC Requirements.
ADVANTAGES: Hard Top, a waterborne single component coating, provides the hardness and durability typically only found in two component systems. It offers breathability and recoating properties superior to two component systems. Hard Top passes hot tire testing and provides excellent chemical resistance. Test small areas prior to the start of the entire project. Proper surface preparation is critical for good adhesion.
Surface Preparation - All surfaces must be clean and free of all dirt, dust, oil, grease, bond breakers, loose coatings, paint or anything, which may inhibit penetration and adhesion. Washing with a cleaner and high-pressure water is suitable for many applications. Acid wash, neutralizing and power wash is also acceptable.
Application - Hard Top may be applied by brush, roller, spray, or other method depending on the finish required. Do not apply in temperatures above 95F or below 55F. Extra precautions must be taken when the temperature may drop below 55F prior to cure. Applications may need to be done earlier in the day to allow for longer cure times. Do not apply if rain is eminent prior to cure. Apply in thin coats. Multiple coats are always recommended over 1 thick application. Skid resistance is best achieved by broadcasting or adding R-Crete Clear Tex into the clear top coats. Check to make sure the finished surface has adequate slip resistance for the application.
