John deere a tractor rocker arm assembly oiler tube ar
I bought this John Deere A quite some time ago. It was some ones project that they tore down and got some of the parts new and some rebuild but got tired of it and sold it to me in 100 parts. This rocker arm assembly was stored it in a damp area so you see some surface rust and pitting in places. The rocker arms were frozen on to shaft so I soaked it over night and was able to get every thing off of shaft without farther damage except the piece that you see in picture # 3. I saw no reason to do so and did not want to scar the shaft with a pipe wrench. I cleaned up all the parts and lightly oiled them. I reflected the worst of the damage in my pictures. The worst of it is not on the load bearing surfaces so I would have no problems using this on one of my tractors if I only ran it 40 or 50 hours a year but if its a tractor that is used 14 hours a day, 6 days a week for the summer I would consider getting something better, but you decide for yourself. The oiling tube comes with it but notice that the line is twisted, the nut was frozen on the fitting and who ever removed it twisted the tube instead of freeing the nut first. I was able to free the nut but put some groves on the fitting just behind the nut. I checked the tubing for leaks in that area and found none and tube although twisted does not restrict oil (see picture # 9). I only found one of the mounting bolts and it comes with it. Please note that this is not in very good shape so look at pictures carefully to determine if this is something that you would use or part out for your project. I want to say again that I tried to reflect the worst of the damage in my pictures so enlarge them and take a good look. I also want to say that I do not know what year A this will work on so please do your own research to make sure that it is compatible with your project. Serial number on tractor that this rocker arm assembly came with is A 613286. Adding items from time to time. Please check out my other items!
