This is an Awesome saw. I purchased this saw new in 2003 have used it regularly and it still only has 775 Hours on it!!! I just checked total hours on 3-26-10 and I was surprized. I have done so much work with this saw in those few hours. I first started my business with a rockwell unisaw with a beismeyer fence. That worked but when I got the Altendorf WOW what at time difference. Well I'm semi-retiring and I don't have room for this in my garage. I know times are tough in the wood working world right now and this saw can save you lots of $$$$. You can cut labor costs, with this saw I could produce double what a normal small shop in my area did and with less help. I use cabinetware software and design to the 1/2 mm and cut to the 1/2 mm. the read out toggles between standard and metric easily. The saw runs on 220, 3 Ph., 60hz. power. Has Tip-servo-drive. Extended sliding table 3800mm. Cross slide Extension. Pneumatic clamp. Rip width 1300mm motorized adjustment. Also has Palin D. And Duplex DD. Has scoring unit with motorized adjustment and RAPIDO scoring system. I got this straight from Germany, not chinese plant. It took months to come in but was worth it.
If you are trying to make money in cabinets this saw will save you money and reduce production time. It is still hooked up in my shop and working like a top. It's always ready to go even at 4:AM or Midnight, I'm the only one complaining.
Oh and this saw with all the guards and the way you work it is much safer than a regular saw. Hands are never close to the blade with the air clamp. I still have all 10 fingers after 30 years in the business!!! and have felt the safest since getting this saw. I also have a bander listed and would consider a package deal. It's a Brandt KD 66/2
These saws can also be used to cut Aircraft Aluminum and the oiler units can be added for metal work.
