For sale is twenty five pieces of titanium tubing with 6.0 millimeter (0.24 inch or about 1/4 inch) outer diameter and 1.0 millimeter (0.04 inch, 1/25th of an inch) wall thickness. The lengths are between 34.5 and 103.0 cm. This is Russian aerospace surplus titanium, fairly soft and can be bent or machined pretty much like low carbon steel. X-ray fluorescence analysis indicates 99+% Titanium content, the only other detectable component is Aluminum (0.5-1.0%). The GOST specification is VT1-0, which corresponds to ASTM Grade 2. It appears to have spiral seams - the gray finish has just a hint of different shades in a spiral pattern, but that may be the result of mechanical rolling on a seamless tube. Otherwise, the surface is smooth and clean. Most of these tubes are fairly straight, but a few have some ugly curves of several millimeters.
The weight of this material is about 74 grams per meter (22 grams per foot). The total net weight of the tubes is 1.466 kilograms.
