I pulled it apart, did my best to clean it, and tested it. The engine is smooth and powerful and all of the knobs do what they're supposed to do. The grinding gears look perfect. There is a large crack in the plastic top compartment. This has been taped with clear plastic tape and it looks good and functional. This compartment is also missing the lid but a Ziploc lid came with the machine and this lid is a perfect, snug fit. All other parts are present including a couple of espresso spoons.
This is an amazing machine. Under the large container on top you'll find a movable metal strip which allows you to control the flow of coffee beans. Under that is the gear mechanism and a dial which controls the size of the grind. Once the coffee is ground it empties into the bottom container. A lever on the side of this container measures the grounds into perfect increments for your espresso machine. At the very bottom is a tamping fixture for tamping the grounds.
