Morse code trainer on cd

Up for sale is one CD containing a complete self-study course to learn to send and receive (particularly receive) Morse code. This course works really well for a classroom situation or a buddy system. Every thing is set up on your PC (not MAC compatible). This method works. I ve used it to teach others who successfully passed the FCC code exam. I came up with this method (sequence of learning and building on learned characters) after trying for years to learn Morse.
If you don t have anyone to learn with, have a friend prepare the computer to send you the practice tests. You don't want to have even a tiny clue of what the practice looks like before you hear it. Never visualize the characters or their patterns. And I have included a ton of the old FCC practice tests to prepare you to get on the air after you have mastered all the characters. And I explain the protocol to use during a CW QSO. The FCC practice tests are in that format.
This program is DOS based so it doesn t take up much room on your hard drive. I ve included a DOS Box Program so the course will work with Windows XP. If you have an old obsolete PC, you could dedicate it as your Morse learner. To master Morse you need to dedicate about three weeks' time, straight through, 15 to 20 minutes a day (no more than 30 minutes per day). There is now a new "DOS Box" program included so the course will work with Windows Vista.
I know that the FCC no longer requires its Amateur Radio Operators to have Morse code skills, but this dieing art is a lot of fun to do, and mastering it is a challenge. If you re a new Ham looking for another facet of the hobby to delve into, why not master CW? Those fast code folks of yesteryear started out slow (about 8 wpm) just like you will and worked their way up from there. If you want to chase rare DX, CW is the mode to use. And all the HF rigs have the CW mode built in.
