Copper countertops

Copper countertops are a wonderful addition to any kitchen. With the housing market in a slump, many people are remodeling instead of moving and copper enhances any d cor and also improves a home s selling power.
Many people are surprised to know that their antimicrobial qualities also outweigh traditional stainless steel!
When I scan through my computer I see all sorts of people selling copper countertops some are a little cheaper, some are WAY more expensive but none that I ve found offer the service that I do. Free. I ve seen copper countertops at $180 a square foot, and yes, they re gorgeous but so are mine! I don t think that copper in the home should be for the very rich alone. Sure, copper is a little on the pricey side, but it s not gold for Pete s sake! Some people tell me I should charge more, You get what you pay for is what they tell me people think, but I have a different philosophy A fair days work for a fair days pay. Simple. And it works, and it has worked for many years I work hard, people are happy, life is good.
I strongly recommend a hammered copper finish for countertops as it will hide a multitude of sins! Extremely durable, a copper countertop will last for many, many years with only a minimum of care.
When my clients want their copper sealed, I generally use a liquid wax; it s easy to apply and works very well at protecting the finish. This product is readily available at Big Box stores and isn t expensive.
This price per square foot is for squared edge countertops in the traditional rectangular shape, this price is also applicable to L shaped and horseshoe shaped countertops with either squared off joints or diagonal joints.
Rounded, bull-nosed, raised lip and other styles of countertop will need to be quoted on an individual basis.
All corners on your copper countertop are soldered and finished.
To help you with your budgeting:
Countertop cost is determined by square footage for the surface area only, I do not charge for edges when determining the square footage of your project please follow these steps.
Length (in inches) x Width (in inches) example L96 x W25=2400
That is the square inch total of your project
Divide that by 144 ie: 2400 / 144 = 16.66 your project requires 16.66 s.f
Information I will need for your project:
Do you need cut-outs? If so, I need the location and dimensions of the cut-outs. Cut outs are a free service I provide to make your installation easier.
Desired thickness of your countertop. Usually 1.5
Do you require an integrated/integral backsplash? If so, how tall? Do you want your integrated backsplash mounted on board or will it run behind tile?
If you require a separate backsplash it is recommended that you order it at the same time as your countertop, this enables me to match finishes. What are the dimensions of your backsplash? Use the above formula to determine the square footage you need but multiply by $25 instead of $50 unless it is to be mounted by me. Don t forget any cut-outs switch plates, single? Double? Outlets?
Do you require one or both ends and/or edges of your countertop wrapped with copper?
Is your countertop free standing or does it butt up to a wall?
Please feel free to contact me either through email at ****@hotmail.com or by phone at (***)-289-7444. I am happy to discuss your project with you! If I don t answer the phone, please leave a message as I m probably just giving someone else s project the same attention I will give yours! Thanks!
