This SOIC 8 Pin SMT Test adaptor / header allows you to remove the SOIC SPI Flash chip from the motherboard (for programming purposes) and replace it with this test header in order to allow you to not have to resolder the SPI chip everytime you program it. This is useful when you're trying different versions of the firmware and not sure which one to use. Once you find the correct firmware, you'll remove this test header and solder the SPI flash directly to the motherboard.
