This item is a vintage Starrett tool set. It is the Micrometer Caliper No. 224 Set A. The range of the tool is 2" to 6"It is at least 40 years old, complete and in excellent working condition.Included are 3 standards, 4 anvils and 2 wrenches.
This tool was purchased in 1971 from a product line inspector for Washington Air Brake Co. in Pittsburgh PA.The man was retiring and my father, who replaced him, bought his tool chest and all its equipment.
It shows little, if any, signs of usage & wear. The paper liner from its packaging is still in the case.The solid wooden case is also in very fine condition. It has a few scuff marks from being stored with other tools but no damage to its structure.The simple closure is well fitted and fully functional.
