This model is sensitive to reading radiation at low levels vs. other models (715, 717, or 720) that read at high levels, thus the 700 it is not recommend for use in areas of high levels of radiation. The 700 is sensitive to reading lower levels of radiation and is good for radiation detection for everyday use; in homes, office, or just about anywhere.
Dosimeter Pens are placed on your person (clipped to a pocket, waste band or belt loop ). It measures moderate to high levels of radiation and gives you an accumulative reading of the amount of radiation exposure. The Charger is used to zero out the pen for repeated us.
