Replacement winch control valve assembly for John Deere skidder models 340D, 440, 440A, 440B, 440C, 440D, 540, 540A, 540B, 540D, 640, 648D, please contact us if you need help determining if this is what you need. This valve assembly replaces the original winch control valve, it easily connects to the existing hose lines & the only customization required is to fasten the steel mounting plate to the cab wall by drilling & bolting or welding as you see fit. The valve operates like the original, with the lever in the center position the winch is stopped with the brake on, push the lever down and the brake is released for free-spooling the winch cable, pulling the lever up releases the brake & the engages the drive clutch to wind in the cable. The lever is detented (stays put) in the center (off) position & in the down (free-spool) position & is spring centered in the power in position so the winch will stop as soon as the lever is released.
