It`s a cheese display table. It came from a local factory I worked at for 3 grueling years. It was made by the workers there during the yearly slow period quite a few years gone by now.. Summer time , probably 10 - 15 years ago.
I recently had to employ this as part of my daughters science project. It went over well. Truth is I need the space it takes up more than I need the table. Time for it to pass into oblivian here to be used and enjoyed by someone else.
It`s made from old time wooden cheese boxes , plywood , dowels and threaded rod and casters on the bottom. It`s mobile !
The base where the casters are attached to has a roughly 24 inch diameter.
The square table top measures a shade under 24 inches square.
It`s not very heavy , I would guess around 25 pounds.
But it`s bulky and semi rickety. The circular chees boxes aren`t glued together. Merely held by compression by the all thread running through the height of the stand.
There were 2 stickers of the former companies logo which I peeled right off for sceince project time.
Some knicks , scratches and a blob of white paint on one edge of the table top.
Would look awesome in a restaraunt or cheese shop somewhere.
The former company above mentioned went corporate a few years ago and these for the most part were discontinued. They sat in a warehouse with a BIZILLION parts to make more until the decision was made to convert the space they were taking up into another use. At that point a bunch of these (the table you see before you) showed up ~for free~ at our plant to be given away. Either for anybody who wanted them or crushed for the wate management dump.
Some of these still survive locally here having faithfully served their original purpose before the axe swung on the warehouse lot. Here`s one, in relatively good shape ready for you.
