I think this might be a handheld barcode reader/scanner, but I'm not sure.
It has a multi-pin connector on the end of its coiled cord, so it's designed to plug-in to another piece of equipment.
The sensor/lens area has several LED emitters and/or sensors.
All I have is what you see. Untested.
