Enercon Air Plasma Treat Station Corona Treatment 22x26
Testing notes: We adjusted the gap spacing and applied power, and found that the plasma is even across the width of the electrode (purple line in middle of 5th photo). When the sled is at the home (right side) position, and both RUN buttons are held down, the plasma strikes and the carriage moves from right to left and back again. The output power is displayed on the power supply as well as the display on the back of the machine. With the gap we set (approx. 1.7mm) the output power was 0.65kW. The other display on the back is either speed or position related, we are not sure which, and it does change as the machine moves the product area under the plasma discharge.

This plasma treatment station is designed to increase the surface energy of plastic films, foils, and paper in order to allow improved wettability and adhesion of inks, coatings, and adhesives. The treated materials demonstrate improved printing and coating quality and stronger lamination strength. Corona treating increases quality and productivity through improved print quality, faster press speeds, and less scrap.
