It is easy to setup without the card swiper. One of the restaurants that uses this system prefers the use of the touch pad over cards, since they can be stolen and sometimes misplaced. If you are looking at this system then you know what it can do and how to operate it and may already have all the tools needed to get it running. I do have the original Software for the key, however it was given to us by the PAR Pixel Point distributor via a burned DVD. It still works as the original, yet note that you will get a burned DVD (not Pictured) of the Software called Pixelpoint. The key is for the server and allows 2 stations to connect to it as well as a kitchen printer, cash registers, and receipt printers. This program by far is very reliable and easy to use. It guides you so that you can setup your system interface as you may feel necessary for your business needs.
The dongle does look a little funny since it was placed in the rear USB connector of a computer, therefore causing a bent look to it since the server was pushed up against the wall. Note this, however it works 100% normal and has never had an issue of not being recognized. Thank you for looking and good luck
