Antique metal lock box with handle documents/money
It is metal, painted black with gold trim.
It measures about 8x5x4 inches. The metal is fairly thick. I think this was intended for protection against theft as opposed to fire.
The condition is good. The box appears to have been pryed open breaking the locking mechinisim. I would imagine this can be replaced. The paint has scratched and chipped in areas. A little touchup paint will bring this antique back to life.
This was manufacured by Brooks & Co. Fulton Street in NY.
This belonged to my grandparents and their families so the age is early 1900's.
