The BML185 features a four-position head that pivots for greater versatility. The flashlight has high illumination, emitting high power at 4,500 Lux with a Xenon bulb for extra brightness. It will run for up four hours on an 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Battery (sold separately). The BML185 weighs just over two pounds (with battery, sold separately) with a compact design at 11-1/8 inches in length and an ergonomic shape that fits like a glove.
About Makita's 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Tool Series - Makita's 18V Lithium-Ion battery(sold separately) delivers 2,000 cycles-2.5X more than Ni-Cd. In addition, built-in shock absorbing features help protect the battery, and sixteen firm-holding contact terminals deliver constant high power. During the charging process, a built-in memory chip in the battery communicates with the Optimum Charger for a more efficient charge, extending the battery life.
Makita's Optimum Charger (sold separately) is also faster: it will charge an 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery in just 30 minutes, and an 18V Compact Lithium-Ion battery in only 15 minutes.
