Baldor 2 HP, 3 Phase Motor, with Stearn's Brake, Volts 230/460, RPM 1140, Shaft 1 1/8". Never been used.
This is the way the Stearn's Brake works. There is a release switch on the end of the motor, when it's on release, the brake doesn't work. When the switch is turned the other way, when you shut the motor off , the brake goes on and when you turn on the motor, the brake goes off.
