Press fit type cable connector strips
Here are four telephone style press fit cable connector strips. On the long one, in the photo, you can see some remaining colored wires. Perhaps 24 or 26 gauge is the normal wire size.
I can see a variety of uses for these: telephone line hook-up, model trains and accessories, pipe organ and other multi-conductor projects. The large strip has 50 connection points along its length and 6 posts across and they are all common to each other ; in plain words all 6 are connected together. The three smaller strips also have 50 connection points along their length and 4 posts across. BUT, these are paired - two common with each other and the other two common with each other. One of the shorted strips has a broken mounting "ear" but very easy to get around. The large strip mounts by means of screws through the plastic body of the strip at either end.
I am going to add in to the box some extra, free, solder type terminal strips. Useful for related electronic projects.
