Used in micro video feeds such as medical scopes.
This peice of equipment is used to measure the width of objects around 20 - 30 m. It is used in instances where small cameras. Applications include medical such as endoscopes and keyhole surgery. It can also be used for structural testing. An example of an application can be found here:

This item powers on fine but has not been tested further due to laboratry limitations. It is sold as "Powered On. No Further Testing". It runs from a 100V AC source.
