The Earthquake Seismic Shutdown System shall be either a mechanical, pneumatic or electro/mechanical in "Fail To Safe" design. The System shall use mechanical or electrical means to seismically actuate within the minimum Standards set by ANSI-Z 21.70 and the California State Architect Part 12, Title 24 CAC. As a minimum, the ENTIRE SEISMIC SYSTEM, shall be UL Listed or UL Recognized as a System (Underwriters Laboratory) and the Seismic Trigger Mechanism shall also be UL Listed, IAPMO Listed (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials), Certified by the California State Architect's Office, and Approved by the City of Los Angeles Mechanical Testing Laboratory.
The manufacturer shall be capable of documenting the System performance at (A Minimum) of Five (5) frequencies (1.0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 and 10 Hz) and Four (4) compass orientations of (0, 45, 90 and 135 degrees).
