The only pan I had handy was a 1/3 Pan, so the pictures below are of the 1/3 pan with its flip up lid. The 1/4 is identical to the 1/3 in how it works, it is simply sized for your 1/4 sized pan. This is 2 pieces, whereas the one piece attaches to the back of the pan and this slides into the slot, which enables it to open and close with ease, as well as being removed with ease if needed.
